Keep going. Don’t give up. Stay ahead of the pack. Anyone who is chasing a distant goal has to work hard.
This was our starting point when designing this expedition-ready touring bike: stainless-steel frame and Pinion gears meet as a superlative bike that is almost indestructible.
Every explorer benefited from the technical developments of their time. Does your internal compass also point towards adventure? We have built a bike that you can climb onto in front of your front door, and a few weeks later be crossing the Arctic Circle.
Rennstahl 931 MTB Rohloff
Designed for: day rides, mountain touring, marathons, racing
This is no bike for anyone with a fear of committing to a relationship. The Rennstahl 853 MTB Derailleur defies anything its rider may subject it to – and will continue to do so over the years that come. But its ultimate willingness to comply makes it the perfect life partner.
The Rennstahl 853 MTB Pinion, with its centrally-positioned internal gear system, is certainly the kind of bike that turns heads. But it’s not just for show: with its array of fine details, it is ideal for a wide range of uses.
Rennstahl 853 MTB Rohloff
Designed for: day rides, general touring, mountain touring, everyday use
“In character, in manner, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
The Randonneur 931 Rohloff gives touring riders both the choice of riding positions provided by dropped handlebars, and frame geometry designed for a comfortable riding position. The steeply-angled top tube gives a wide range of sizing options when setting the relative heights of saddle and handlebars: if desired, the bars can be fitted with a 17° stem to position them significantly higher than the saddle.
The relatively low bottom bracket makes getting on and off more straightforward, and improves handling when riding heavily-laden at speed. The slider dropouts facilitate switching between 650B and 700C wheels, and allow chain tension to be fine-tuned when changing sprocket sizes. The wheel size options provide a choice between narrower, sportier tyres or more tyre volume for a more comfortable ride, better suited for going off-road.
The titanium fixed-fork provides a perfect aesthetic match and is equipped for thru-axles; the SON hub dynamo (Boost compliant) provides the disc-brake rotor anchor point and allows the wheel to be symmetrically spoked for extra strength. Elegant stainless-steel cable guides look after the gear and brakes control systems, and in keeping with the frame’s aesthetics we fit a Tubus stainless-steel rack system. The handy Supernova Plug on the stem uses power from the hub dynamo for charging electronic devices.
The Randonneur 931 Rohloff is built entirely with Reynolds stainless steel tubing and is supplied with a titanium fork, whose collar elegantly complements the head tube. The build is completed by a Rohloff Speedhub and 180mm disc brakes, plus a full SON lighting system with symmetrically-spoked hub dynamo and Supernova USB charger, a Tubus stainless-steel rack system, and SKS-Bluemels mudguards.
The bike is built to carry an impressive 185kg.
In addition to the standard Syntace-based spec, we offer a Titanium package with Falkenjagd equipment and a Tune Components package, available in a range of anodised colours.
