Keep going. Don’t give up. Stay ahead of the pack. Anyone who is chasing a distant goal has to work hard.
This was our starting point when designing this expedition-ready touring bike: stainless-steel frame and Pinion gears meet as a superlative bike that is almost indestructible.
Every explorer benefited from the technical developments of their time. Does your internal compass also point towards adventure? We have built a bike that you can climb onto in front of your front door, and a few weeks later be crossing the Arctic Circle.
Designed for: day rides, mountain touring, expeditions – on snow, sand, or mud
This is no bike for anyone with a fear of committing to a relationship. The Rennstahl 853 MTB Derailleur defies anything its rider may subject it to – and will continue to do so over the years that come. But its ultimate willingness to comply makes it the perfect life partner.
Designed for: touring, mountain trails, everyday use
The Rennstahl 853 MTB Pinion, with its centrally-positioned internal gear system, is certainly the kind of bike that turns heads. But it’s not just for show: with its array of fine details, it is ideal for a wide range of uses.
Like their riders, classic cyclo-cross bikes are specialists. But nowadays a more multi-purpose design is often sought after – and that’s what we’ve gone for in creating the 931 CX. Compared with a road-racing bike, the frame geometry is designed with a longer rear triangle and a slightly flatter steering angle which suits fast off-road sections; it also gives more relaxed straight-line handling on tarmac and woodland trails. However, the bottom bracket is not as high as on classic ’cross bikes, which gives improved handling at high speeds and a lowered centre of gravity – without creating difficulties off-road. Hydraulic disc brakes bring optimal control in every situation, whether on a cyclo-cross course or wet roads. Braze-ons for two bottle holders ensure that the CX is ready for longer races. If it is to be used for fast touring, a rear rack can be fitted, making the CX into a genuine all-rounder.
The corrosion-proof stainless-steel frame has a surface that outshines any paint job at resisting the challenges of cyclo-cross. The wide PressFit 86 bottom bracket shell allows wider mounting of the chain stays; the wheel clearance is sufficient for up to 35mm tyres, with mudguards. The titanium Falkenjagd fork is the perfect complement for the stainless-steel frame, for both looks and performance. The 931 CX can be ordered with Shimano or SRAM components; the thru-axle wheels can be DT Swiss or Tune Components. In addition to the standard Syntace spec, two option packages are available: Titanium or Tune Components – the latter in a range of anodised colours.
